Hiking in the South Jersey Pines

Today I enjoyed a day of hiking with my kids and some of their friends. My son Jason had five friends sleep over last night, then we all got up for the hike. I am pretty tired and so are the boys. The group we were with was from the Awana ministry at Haddon Heights Baptist Church. I got to meet some people I had not met before. What is interesting to me is the number of folks that send their kids to Awana at HHBC that attend other churches. I met a new friend, James, who goes to Covenant Presbyterian Church. Jason’s friend Connor was one of the boys that stayed over and his dad came hiking with us. They go to Sovereign Grace in Cherry Hill. With a bunch of Baptists, a Presbyterian and a Sovereign Grace guy, we had some good theological discussions. James told me that the midwest Baptist churches are a lot more tolerant of “Piper Baptists” than the churches here in the northeast. I told him I know all about it!! Anyway, it was a great time and good exercise. I think we hiked over six miles and I felt pretty good the entire time. After the hike, I took Joshua to Sovereign Grace’s student ministry and we got home after 10:00PM. This has been a long weekend so far, but all good!
