I Just Can't Do It
 
To be honest, I was looking forward to taking my kids to see the new Transformers movie. I love action, sci-fi, and even a little violence here and there. I am just in the mood to see some “good guys” do some butt-kickin’.
 
Then - I read the review at Plugged-In Online, and I became very disappointed. I do not think I will be going to this movie... with or without my kids. Once again, a movie has been marketed towards teen and pre-teen males (and dads), just to throw in needless crude references that I just cannot sit through with my kids. I cannot set a double standard no matter how hip my kids and their friends think I would be for taking them.
 
I am saddened to see some churches talking about discernment and linking to the “Plugged In Online” site.... and also promoting the movie. I know this is a “grey area”, but something bugs me. Perhaps I am getting old.
 
It does look like a cool movie. I would be into it. But, I just can’t do it.
